New York Stage and Film (SAF) holds its annual winter gala Nov. 10 at Capitale in Manhattan.
The evening honors acting couple Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick as well as Douglas Harmon for “their ongoing commitment to live performance and support of SAF.”
In a recent statement artistic director Johanna Pfaelzer said, “We are excited to kick off our 25th year of producing new and exciting theatre by honoring Kyra, Kevin, and Doug for their wonderful contributions to SAF and to the theatre community in general. Since 1985, we have dedicated ourselves to both emerging and established artists in the development and production of theatre and film and we look forward to continuing for the next 25 years.”
Sedgwick has appeared in SAF workshops of Honour and Yield of a Long Bond. Harmon, the senior managing director of Eastdil Secured, has been on the SAF Board of Directors since 1994 and executive produced Andrew Wagner’s Starting Out in the Evening, which starred Frank Langella. Bacon’s “devotion to the theater and his support of live performance has been truly extraordinary,” according to a press statement.
The gala will begin at 6:30 PM with a cocktail reception, followed by 7:30 PM dinner and 8:30 PM entertainment.
Capitale is located in Manhattan at 130 Bowery, between Broom and Grand Streets. Tax-deductible tickets, which begin at $350, are available by calling (212) 736-4240. Visit www.newyorkstageandfilm.org for more information.

Amy Sedaris recently signed a sitcom deal with Fox in which she will write and star in her own pilot (and potentially her own series).
In addition to this, Sedaris will appear on multiple episodes of TNT’s The Closer, where she will play Fritz’s sister and not a character related to or being chased by Kyra Sedgwick’s character.
Though her role is not related to Sedgwick’s character, the show’s audience will see a great deal of interaction between Sedaris and the show’s star.
The creator of The Closer, James Duff, says that Sedaris’s character wastes her days as “a psychic who’s wandered the occupational landscape, taking on, at various times, the job of yoga instructor, glass blower, Cirque de Soleil student. . . .”
Fritz seems a bit ashamed of his sister, and Brenda then spends time with her future sister-in-law in some reportedly great scenes.
We’ve just posted a Flash slideshow of images from a Press Conference held on September 26, 2008 on the Image Gallery.
We just posted additional images from last night’s Emmy Awards on the Image Gallery page.
We are in the process of posting preliminary images from tonight’s 60th Annual Emmy Awards to the Image Gallery. No, Kyra did not win the award. But, she looked beautiful, as always!
We have just posted the screen caps for Time Bomb to The Closer page. Additionally, the zip file of all of the screen caps is posted to the Archive page.
Due to the graphic nature of the episode and its subject matter, some of the screen caps may be more graphic than usual.
